The college under its umbrella, has a rich library and book bank with modern facilities like Computerised Reading Room, Boys Common Room, Girls Common Room, Conference Hall, Parking Zone, Playground (Indoor and Out-door), NSS, NCC, well-equipped and spacious laboratories, Power Backup, Internet Lab, UGC Sponsored Programmes like Coaching Classes for Entry in Services, Remedial Course, Equal Opportunity Centre, and Career and Counselling Centre.

The college has got a well-established Examination Department and its function is to conduct all on-campus examinations smoothly and fairly. The Department ensures that all promoting tests be conducted and their result be notified on time. The Department is run by Examination Controller and its team, all deputed by the Principal.

It is compulsory for all students to sit for college tests to secure promotion to next year like from 11th class to 12th class and to seek permission as eligibility to fill up the forms of final University Examination like D1, D2 & D3 Exams.

It is mandatory to have 75% attendance in each subject for appearing at the University Examination. The Examination Depoartment remains very vigilant and strict during all types of Examination and implements rules and regulations in total while monitoring exams.

All the necessary information regarding Examinations can be obtained from Examination Department.

Students are advised to contact authorized teachers for railways concession. As per railways rules, they can get concession for visiting home or attending any academic event. The daily basic concession is also available for those who come to attend classes from adjoining railway stations.

The full-fledged college library is monitored by a team of one librarian, two sorting assistant and one assistant who are accountable for effective running of library affairs. Beside this, the library is having an active Advisory Committee.

The library is in possession of textbooks, reference book and research books with latest publication and a good collection of journals.

The library remains functional during regular class hours and students are expected to abide by the defined rules in getting the books issued as well as utilized. They are needed to produce their library card at the counter. Books are issued to them for 15 days, and if necessary the duration is extended. However, teacher can keep the issued books as per their requirements.’

The library has one reading room with required facilities. It is open for both students and teachers. Book Bank facility has also been provided for the benefits of both students and staff.

NCC (National Cadet Corps)

NCC Scheme has been in operation since 2004 at college. It is affiliated to 8, Bihar Battalion of Darbhanga. Parade with training is organized three days a week. Examinations for Certificate C are held in the 2nd year and 3rd year respectively.

Active and dedicated students of Intermediate, 1st year classes can seek admission to NCC.

The chief purpose of NCC at the college is to inculcate nationalism and patriotism into the enrolled students. Discipline is enforced during training. Over all personality development is also given special attention.

NSS (National Service Scheme)

The college is running National Service Scheme same as NCC. This scheme is active in the college on a mutual coordination from central and state governments to enhance awareness about National and Social Welfare and also to ignite helping nature in enrolled students. All programs of National Service Scheme are educative and motivating. Some of the information related to the National Service Scheme is as follows.

  1. There is a provision to admit only 50 students in this program.
  2. Students have to keep relation with this program for two sessions.
  3. Every year in summer vacation, there is a special hunt program launched for students.
  4. Certificate is provided to students for their services.
  5. NCC students can’t be admitted to National Service Scheme.
  6. Interested students can apply by taking Entry Form from the office of National Service Scheme (NSS).

There is a game calendar running in our college. According to the provision, announcement of competition is done in every section. To get admitted, form should be deposited. The students of this college have great achievements in Sports. Like in year 2011-2012.

  1. First position in competition of Darbhanga District Male Football.
  2. Second position in under-graduate Football Competition under Darbhanga Commissionery.
  3. First position in U.R. College, Rosra under college Kho-Kho Male Competition.
  4. First position in MLSM College League Match under college Hand Ball Male Competition.

Before that in 2010-2011 this college was the runner in the competition of Football conducted in Samastipur College, Samastipur and also gained the position of winner in Kho-Kho Competition held at B.M. College, Rahika, Madhubani.

The College proposes to set up an Art of Living Cell on the campus in near future. The cell will monitor and organise short-term sessions on the practical aspects of yoga and meditation. In addition, the cell will envisage to promote such activities among students on priority basis.

The College IQAC is meant for planning, guiding and monitoring Quality Assessment and Quality Enhancement strategies and activities. The IQAC envisages, channelizes and systematizes the efforts and measures towards the pursuits of academic excellence. It also aims to identify the deficiencies in the implementationof the chalked out measures and do desired rectifications.

In recent decades, a lot of environmental problems have emerged as the result of human activities and unplanned management of the technological developments. Under the circumstances, environmental sensitivity can only grow through a major public awareness campaign, and the institution can contribute greatly to such campaigns.

Merging the ideas and philosophy of environmentalism with the structure of formal education systems, the college aims to strive to increase awareness of environmental problems as well as to foster the skills and strategies among students for addressing the issues of environmental protection. In addition, the college organises awareness programmes on campus towards the fulfillment and completion of environmental objectives.

Coaching Classes for Entry in Services

The college has got glory in running UGC Sponsored Programme namely “Coaching Classes for Entry into Services” (Banking Railways, SSC and other Competitive Exams). The Coaching is meant for aspiring graduate students belonging to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & Minorities categories. It has been successfully going on for the last three years. Eight batches of enrolled students are already conducted. A fair number of students on roll in previous batches have attained record success in competitive exams like Banking Exam, SSC Exam and Bihar TET. The management of this Coaching has been continuously receiving enthusiastic queries, healthy feedbacks as well as encouraging responses on the part of aspiring target students, and here reflects the true success of this programme.

The Coaching is running under the competent guidance and co-ordinatorship of Dr. Mohammad Shaukat Ansari, an Associate Professor of English. He has published thirty-seven research papers/articles so far. He has authored three research-based books (including a practical, interactive and communicative English book titled “Improve your Functional English”). He is associated with several reputed international journals as a Member/Reviewer on their editorial boards. In addition, he is currently Senator and Academic Council Member of L.N. Mithila University.

Remedial Coaching

Remedial Coaching Scheme aims at elevating academic skills and raising students level of comprehension in such subjects where quantitative, technical and laboratory work is involved. The scheme is being carried out in various subjects, on weekdays (MONDAY to FRIDAY) before the commencement of regular classes and on Saturday after the regular classes. This scheme is meant for guiding the students belonging to the backward classes and minorities in the areas of weakness. Interested students should submit application in the prescribed format (available at college office) within the stipulated date.
